limes there compost? I don't

I do since most horse, cow, or other manures tend to be on the acidic side. Lime makes for good microorganism growth with is vital in a compost heap. Check the ph in the pile and don'e let it get too acidic. Use an agricultural lime or sometimes ground limestone is good since it lasts for a long time.

Actually ,lime,sand, and, I think Phosphate, are suppose to be added as the compost is layered, it makes a finer blend and the fertilizer helps it break down faster.
No I am so lazy, I don't add anything until I spread it and then I add the lime.

Um...I think if you lime it, it will kill your garden....thus defeating the purpose of compost.
