It does nothing but calm your nerves and increase your appeite and help with nausea...it has NEVER been proven to hurt an unborn child. It is not a mind altering or body altering drug. I know MANY women who have done this through there ENTIRE pregnancy and had a healthier baby than the woman who done everything "right" as they say...don't worry about it. If you quit that is Great...if not cut back.

The jury is still out on that one. Remember that the fetus is hooked up to your circultory system and is exposed to whatever is in your bloodstream. The placenta does act as a filter to screen out some of the toxins, but a certain amount of those substances do make it through. It is believed that the fetus, in it's first few months, is in such an undeveloped form that it will not retain many of the toxins that you have consumed and, if you discontinue their use early, there will be no lasting effects on your baby. Take this as an example: Mothers who smoke cigarettes during pregnancy are more likely to give birth to a baby that develops asthma. Think about it.

Seems like you can use advice from someone that's actually BEEN THERE!!!!! Don't pay attention to the idiots judging you. I didnt find out I was pregnant with my oldest daughter until i was 3 months pregnant. I was on birth control and had my period all 3 months. I smoked weed until I found out I was pregnant. As soon as I found out I stopped. She was born very healthy. It's a very good thing that you are choosing to stop smoking it now that you know you're pregnant. Your baby should be fine. My daughter is 2 now and she's very smart. She knows 6 colors, can say her alphabet and can count to 10. Just make sure you don't do it anymore. I quit when I found out I was pregnant and never did it again. Don't let people's rude comments get to you. You'll do good. Good luck and congratulations.

Only time will tell. Usually there are physical and emotional effects, but you will just have to stop using anything right now and start taking care of yourself the rest of the pregnancy. Eat well, get check ups, exercise and don't drink, smoke, or do drugs. Now, you will have a chance to do something good for not only your baby, but yourself too.

As far as causing problems with brain development, I think the answer to this is unknown, as no one has ever been able to do a study about it. But it is known that smoking is very bad for fetuses; even though marijuana is free of nicotine it is loaded with tar and carbon monoxide. Women who smoke have been shown to have children whose lung function is compromised for life.

Here is some advice. STOP NOW!!!!!!!! my sister smoked the entire time she was pregnant, and her son who is 2 and a half cant even say 2 words, he still has a bottle and has several other developmental problems. Wanna guess why? you got it, so if you care about your baby dont be selfish and stop gettin high, your baby dont need that shi*, and if you cant stop smoking you really shouldnt be gettin pregnant, strap it up next time

I'm sorry to say it, but it really does especially during the first few months :( I think you should stop because if you don't it's going to affect your health as well as your unborn. Good Luck!

Those two months were when all of its organ systems were developing. Tell your doctor (they've heard it all before, trust me, and they want what's best for you and the baby), and STOP SMOKING!
