They will win it in 2015. That's the year Marty McFly went back to in Back to the Future 2 and finds out the Cubs win the World Series. The guy's comment that he should have put some money on the Cubbies at the beginning of the season is what causes Marty to buy the sports almanac book.

Of course they can. They did in 1907 and 1908. It would help if they won a pennant, though. The 1984 Cubs probably would have given Detroit a run for their money, but I suspect the Orioles would have swept them in 1969.
I am not aware of any movies in which the Cubs win the World Series.

SOx fan here as well and the Cubs are gonna be in trouble the next few years. They need to gut that team and completely rebuild.
