ok a magnet has two poles right north and south in all diagrams ive seen going back as far as maxwell there r always two seprate flows my question is simply why r they disected at intersection instead of simply folded kind of like the symbol for infinity the motion of the field follows the g r therory it should stay in motion that acts as one instead of two seprates like the earths axis

An electron is a "monopole". The reason for it having but a single extending magnetic field is that one half of an electron is formed of magnetic lines and the other half is formed into mass. The electric field of the electron forms the equatorial line.

In larger mass, that is formed of electrons, opposite fields are formed because of opposite spin lines forming at opposite ends of a magnet.

To see this on a larger scale, consider our planet. It has the magnetic field it does because of its rotation. Planet Venus is almost a twin to our planet, but it has almost no spin and no magnetic field. Planet Jupiter, a large planet with great spin, has an intense magnetic field about it that it affects spacecraft that are too long in its presence.

There are "hemiforces" moving from the poles of our planet toward the equator (called Coriolis effect). This energy increases as one moves from the pole toward the equator because of greater mass having greater spin. When these forces meet at the equator, they are, in force, moving opposite each other. When passing through the plane of our equator the energy moving through the plasma forms opposite existing fields. It's always the same. Where there is energy present, it must give evidence of its presence in some manner.

There is a force called magnetic moment. In many materials, this force is randomly distributed through the atomic structure. We say this material is not 'magnetic' since a magnetic field interacts with the random moment of the material in both attractive and repulsive ways that cancel each other out. The magnet will seem to neither attract nor repel the material, when in fact it is both attracting and repelling in equal amounts.
In magnetic materials, the magnetic moment is in an alignment that can be attracted by a magnetic field. In magnets the material's magnetic moments are aligned so that a polarity exists. Polarity means that two magnets will attract or repel each other according to the respective polarity.
The moment is created by the spin of the electrons. When something spins, you have an axis of spin. There is no known way at this time to create the magnetic moment without spin of the electron. The spin has an up and down. There is no other way. The magnetic moment of up will attract a magnetic moment of down, and repel a magnetic moment of up. The physics is such that the moments will align naturally, and have this polarity. The magnetic field that results, reflects this, and so there is no way to have just an up, without a down. But you can force two magnets together physically at their same poles, and create an interesting repulsive magnetic field. This is how a mag-lev train works.

If you look again, it *DOES* follow the shape of an infinity symbol.

Near the center, the forces cancel each other out! ^_^

On a side note, it took me three reads to understand what you were asking. Perhaps some punctuation and an attempt to use complete words next time?
