A bit further behind from what I had hoped for. Growing up, I though we would have landed people on Mars by now and the first true interstellar probe would have been launched. At this rate, it will be at least two more centuries before Downbelow Station is conceived and built at Tau Ceti (reference - novels by CJ Cherryh). I used to belong to a space group called the L5 Society back in the 1970s and we should have been building solar power satellites and space colonies by now form materials launched off the moon using mass drivers. A return trip to the moon will probable not happen until 2018. My idea of the future has not materialized...only personal computers have exceeded my wishes for the future. We have lost a lot of strong leaders of the education of space and astronomy and the human development of space along the way, two being Gerard O'Neil and Carl Sagan. Thank goodness we have persons like Seth Shostak to take the reigns. I am also thankful for the likes of Paul Allen, Robert Bigelow, and Richard Branson to fund the new pioneers of space development, and companies like Liftport to go after a dream. I may yet get to rise the space elevator to orbit.

My future is going as i imagined.. with a few hiccupps

The world , Nothing as imagined. I never imagined 9/11 .I never expected iraq war.
I never thought of Clinton's impeachment , I never heard of nuclear neighbours.

But some thigs are still going as expected.. we still exist in harmony. the pathfinder made to mars. the crew of columbia got home 2nd time.
US and India turned friends from a hostile relation.

Some more that i expected was I robot in life. or at least a flying car looks like its good 30 years away..

YES. But i would assume at least 3 more decades (30 years) before we see mass produced hydro cars. I dont see any flying cars in the future . The world will also be in the brink of World War III because of oil bickeirng and scarcity of natural resources for food. there will be worlwide famine and US will not be 1 of the G7 countries anymore. New diseases incurrable will be widespread, rampant extra terrestrial sightings.

NOPE
If you realy want to know the future (and we are living it now) check out the book of Revelation and then read the prophets: Daniel and Isaiah... It is totally clear and so far over 98% of the prophecies have come to pass. We're now in the 99th% and neer the end of the world as we know it...

At least check it out...

To answer that question go back and watch some of sci-fi movies from 60's. See what they thought the world would be like now and see how it really is.
