In your opinion, what decade had the best wrestling/wrestlers? The 80's, 90's or so far in the 00's?

There's no clear answer to this question.

I'll say the 80's because when you are wide eyed child and see the angles and story lines for the first time of course they are more appealing the first time around.

Plus in the 80's we had Hogan, Flair, Martel, Bockwinkle, Race (although he was on the downswing) the Von Erichs, Backlund, the Iron Shiek, Snuka, Terry Funk, Magnum TA, the Kolloffs, The British Bulldogs, Santana, Savage, Piper, Valentine, Steamboat, The Four Horseman, The Harts, the Road Warriors, Rude, Henning and probably about a dozen others that I've either forgot to mention or don't have the space.

The wide spread growth in popularity of the 80's led to the national and multi-national promotion you see today.

But again the 90's saw a downswing and towards the middle and end of the decade we saw the rise of ECW and the Rock and Stone Cold become national celebrities.

The current period looks like it might be a bit of a downturn. A wrestling historian might argue that Cena with the WWE title and Batista with the World Championship was a low point in wrestling history.

This should be qualified though that I am making the comparison to Hogan with the WWE title and Flair with the World Championship. Not really a fair comparison is it?

Without doubt, the WWE's 2 big booms were in the mid 80s and the late 90s. The 80s had Hogan, the 90s had Austin. Personally, I enjoyed the 90s more. Nobody was afraid to admit they watched wrestling. It was "cool" to watch it. However, the 80s were without doubt the most popular. There will never be anyone like Hulk Hogan ever again. The TV ratings were doubled then that of the "Attitude Era" in the late 90s. Not to mention, the Silverdome record in 1987.

I think it was better in the 90's. I'll tell you why though the 80's featured amazing wrestlers including Andre The Giant, Hulk Hogan and Jake "The Snake" Roberts the 90's had some of the greatest rivalries. From Kane vs Undertaker to Stone Cold vs. The Rock the list goes on.
