If you are allowed personal days - just tell them something came up that you have to take care...there's a reason why it's called a personal day. It's not law/mandatory that you tell them the reason...

You don't lie. You go to work like a responsible person or you take a personal day. Or you can quit and have a lot of days off.
Yes, I am being a bit barkish. But the reason behind it is that if you are caught in the lie you could be fired at worse or at best everytime you call in sick later you will be questioned. Besides it is always a good idea not to get into the habit of lieing.

It's not a good idea to lie to your employer. Use your vacation time if you have any. Work is always fine once you're there, it's getting started that's tough, just go to work!!
