I have no car yet because I'm in driver's training now. Some of my friends have cars but jobs too. I don't live in town, I haven't heard any responses to my job applications, and I don't just want to go out and get wasted. Oh and by the way it's my Sweet 16 Summer! I'm 16 on July 18!!!!!

This is what I tell my grand-daughter . You should work for 1/3 of the time to prepare you for adulthood . Accepting some responsibility for your own insurance for your car is a good thing . Also it can help you with new school clothes you want or maybe even your own cell phone or your own checking account that will help you to build up your credit ratings !. 1/3 of your time should be spent with family . EX: Visiting your grandparents , planning outings , and such stuff like that . 1/3 of your time should be for your own pleasure such as a day at the pool with friends . This will give you a busy summer scheldule and be fair to all . HAVE FUN !! Oh and Happy Birthday 16 is a special year . Be safe and be wise .

The best way to spend the summer in your situation would be to maybe go and do something with just one or two friends since there schedules for work are different. The mall would be good, maybe a water park like Conney Island, or even just to get a little treat.

Travel to another country (recommend Italy, Croatia, France) by yourself for at least 2 weeks with no set schedule -- you will have amazing adventures, interact with people you normally would not, learn so much about yourself and why the things we think are so important in everyday life here in the US do not really matter much in the long term.
