You should keep them until you get your final grades and your official diploma, after that there isn't any NEED to keep them, although you might want to keep them for sentimental reasons and/or to show your kids when you're all grown up ("See kiddies- we used to use these really old-fashioned things called computers to write our papers!") I am doing a Masters degree at University, and I wish I had kept more of my highschool and university work (especially the stuff that got great marks).

I threw away everything. Assignments, notes, all that. The only thing I didn't throw away was a book from a dual credit class. (high school and college credit - had to buy the textbook)

I have no reason to keep them, except possibly for some research papers or essays. Keep em, make the changes your teacher mentioned, and use them at college in your writing courses if you take any.

what I do is keep my notes and tests- because I take really good notes and tests always show a cumulation-
keep your writing papers-- it's nice to use for improvement
but throw away random homework assignments and of that nature-- stuff that is not really valuable or memorable

Throw them out. Most likely, you will not need them anymore and it is always a good idea to take fresh notes. It keeps your mind sharp.
