It's the worst officiating ever.

I find the officiating though harsh and very "yellow card" heavy is making the play more fair and stopping some of the bullshit see in the 2002 World Cup. I will never forget the Brazil vs Turkey game when Ronaldo was hit in the arm with a ball and went down like a sack of potatoes clutching his face like it hit his face. The Turkish player was given a red card and after officials reviewed footage and saw it clearly did not hit Ronaldo's face at ALL, they just fined him... Personally he should have been given an Oscar nod for the performance and then kicked out of the tournament. that sort of play is dirty, wrong, unsportsmanlike and is not acceptable.

It has not been that bad... FIFA has given directions to crack down on most offences, especially a zero tolerance for 2-footed tackles, dives and to penalise for time wasting. Plus, the refs are liable for evaluation after the matches.. Compared to the last world cup, I say the officiating here is great.. but then again, the officiating in Korea-Japan 2002 was horrid, and downright bias!

I think it's been pretty fair actually. It's really easy to see 'biases' when we are biased ourselves. Also, the referees are only human, and don't have a long time or replays to make their decision.

Although some people have criticized the Italy vs. USA game because of the referee, I though all those red cards were pretty fair. All those moves were right down dirty and unsportsmanship-like. The cleaner the game, the better it will be.

I don't think it's been extremely bad.

The reffs are only human, they have made a few mistakes, but they have helped too stop unsportsmanship which happens often in this game.

I thought the ref in the USA/Italy game was atrocious, and so did my European bf.

At times, it has been downright disgraceful! But most of the time, it hasn't been too bad.

it's not that terrible... it's really hard to call a game in real life speed... instead of replays
