You can be an alto and still an opera singer, there are many alto roles, for example Dalila (Samson et Dalila), Angelina (La Cenerentola) , Lucretia (The Rape of Lucretia) , and The Witch (Hänsel und Gretel). There are also many alto roles in musicals, if your voice is not able to be of opera quality. And also, depending on your age, you may or may not be an alto forever. If you are young it is very important not to go out of your natural range without a professional's help, and as you age your voice may become higher or deeper.

Ask a qualified voice teacher about your potential. Not all opera stars are soprano. There have to be a range of voices to make an opera successful. Check with the people who know, and then train accordingly. You might be the alto opera star. Good luck.

As an Alto voice there are many opportunities in opera. Opera is not just for high soprano voices or the famous tenor. If you enjoy it try it.

First learn to use spell check, then get castrated. I'm sure you will have a great voice. That is my suggestion.
