im thinking its because of the jerry springer shows because there is ppl on there that sleep with there bby siters and stuff like that

The guys were probably joking with you. But mostly cuz of Maury and Jerry Springer...where people's husband's sleep with the baby sitter or have an affair with the baby sitter
