the color of the sky depends on the position of the sun or in relative to time. at night the color is dark, due to no light from the sun reaches our eyes, in the afternoon the sky shows blue because blue travels slowest among the spectrum colors. during sunsets and sunrises the color of sky may vary from red to yellow, this is because the sun is almost tangential to the place we are looking at the sky, thus we can only capture red color due to little deflection compared to blue.
