If anyone is interested in sci-fi, western, or just good tv in general, you should check out the show Firefly. It was created by Joss Whedon of Buffy and Angel fame. It was cancelled after one season. A group of fans have come together to dub June 23rd as Serenity Day. On that day we plan to buy copies of both the Firefly series dvd and its related movie Serenity, in order to help boost dvds sales and maybe change Fox's mind about the show. Fox brought Family Guy back based on its dvd sales. We're hoping it works for us too. If you are intrested at all, you should stop by http://www.fireflyday.com. Thank you.

I have to second that recommendation. My brother turned me onto Firefly and it is one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. It didn't get the popularity it needed it's first season to continue, but the fan base was so huge by then that they made a movie (ie Serenity). If you've ever been interested in sci-fi of any kind, this is a fabulous, if unorthodox, show and you must try it.

Just filled out my brown coat profile. I think the video on demand prices are a bit much. I can get episodes of any series from HBO for less than a dollar by on-demand service.

I went to see it last night (never having seen it nor the TV show) at a theatre that serves beer, and I still had to walk out halfway though...it was THAT bad!
Poor writing, worse acting. A guy gets shot through the leg with a giant harpoon that would have (at least) broken his bone and possibly bled him to death and he just glibly takes it out and pours some booze on it. Oh, and the dialogue..."We're gonna explode? I don't wanna explode!" was just SO forced.

firefly rocks.. im sadit is no longer on tv ... it sucks that everyone thinks crappy shows are kool such as american idol and stuff like that .. and then they there a few people that like good shows such as firefly and other kool shows..
