Everyone has this experience of being the new kid in school, at least I have.
You can start by
1)being yourself
2) Be Friendly
3) Join after school clubs your interested in; you can find others with a common interest

Relax and give yourself time. Smile at others and be interested in what others are saying. Be truthful about how you are feeling. Those who already have enough friends might be uninterested but that is them....not about you. There will be little groups already formed so don't muscle your way in. Join a sport or club and just be yourself and be pleasant. Its scary starting a new school...friendships take time. Don't talk about other people...get to know them. If you know anyone even in higher grades ask them to introduce you to friendly kids around your age. Don't pick new friends just cos they are popular or good-looking....some of the best friends you will make won't be in the "in crowd..." Someone else may be lonely like you and really need a friend. If you want friends... be friendly. But it will take afew weeks at least.

Smile a lot only give compliments never say this is the way we did it at out old place. Dig deep you will find something good about it.

Just be really really nice, and smile a lot, and talk to everyone, and be interested. If someone is a jerk, don't give up, because most people are not. You'll be fine.

Act like you don't need anyfriends, pay hard to get, act like you don't need anyone as a friend, trust me it happen to me, i became really popular.

just be yourself and soon you will make new friends, I think the more you try the worse you look.

be ur self just don't try and fit it were you can watch people first see if these are ur kind of people you'll see where you'll belong.
