Because you didn't specify what kind of question you wanted asked and that's what they thought of? Maybe he/she wanted to come up with something that they thought you couldn't answer?

So here's a question for you....

Why ask a generic question, when apparently, you were looking for something more specific.

Water is wet because it is a compound that has been "quickened."
2H2O is the correct equation for water.
The "wet" that is felt from water is the residue from the hydrogen. Hydrogen is a light, explosive gas...
Oxygen is a dry, heavy gas.
Oxygen acts as a "lubricant." Allowing other molecules to move freely. Being a dry molecule, they will bond to "heavier" molicules.
"Quicksand" is dry...yet one will sink in it. The sand is coated with oxygen molecules...The grains of sand are "lubricated."
I recommend that you look up the meaning of "inertia."
