Evolution is a theory. It is clearly and regularly refered to as such. Creationism is also a theory. This means neither has been proven. Although I can provide findings and facts that make the theory of evolution more plausible (such as the "mutation" of a simple cold virus on a yearly basis to render it immune to last years antibodies), I cannot provide absolute proof. But creationists talk as if scientists are unable to budge from evolution. Every scientist in the world will agree that the theory of evolution is false when someone presents evidence of such. And every scientist in the world will agree that creationism is true once someone produces solid evidence that proves it. It is the doctrine of science that they don't seem to understand.
I don't know, and thats ok. I don't have to imagine or invent a reason or explanation for something that I cannot explain. I simply live my life with enjoyment and kindness, and that will provide all the satisfaction I need.

NOTE: my example shows the most basic kind of evolution. Survival of the fitest. When a virus becomes impervious to a vaccine, it is because a few of the buggers are already immune. But because your antibodies kill those that are not, the other (the ones that are different) survive and grow and replicate and transmit to others.
