Clomid is a fertility drug...I put the link in for you. As for a consultation its just going to be question asked like: How long have you been trying to conceive? how many times a week do you have sex? Do you try other "home methods" to conceive? OR have you tried them before? Do you have any people on your family that have had the same problems? Things like that. Most of it should deal with your past your husbands/boyfriends past family and there past. It will be tedious and kind of annoying so be WELL prepared for all the question and if you want to you could call the office before the consultation and have them mail you the questions that they MAY ask or WILL ask. Depends on the office BUT If you call and ask for the info they should send it out asap. At least my doctors office would.

First and foremost the doctor will want to give u a bloodtest and will want to know the exact day of your last period. This is so that she/he can work out the length of your cycle and the bloodtest will give a day and tell you for sure if u are ovulating.
You will need these tools when trying to conceive beacuse as u know u only get 3 ideal days during ovulation when pregnancy can occur. Also your husband will need to have a sperm count. Don't worry this again will be useful becasuse it may be his sperm count is too low-- so straight away u will know the reason for it taking so long.
When all the tests have been done and nothing is found to be wrong just take it easy relax and have sex on those
3 days. Ovulation is easy to detect once u know what to look for. My gp said its an increase in temperature(buy yourself a thermometer) and the discharge will appear 'watery' . this is an ideal time to practice.

Secondary infertility is becoming more widespread and common, that is, first children were conceived with no problems, but no explanation why subsequent conception are more difficult.
I've had two friends now that had IVF for their second children for unexplained infertility.
The initial consulation will primarily consist of lifestyle questions, as well as more personal questions about your cycle, how often you have sex, diet etc. These will be aimed at both you and your husband. You may have to provide a blood test and you may have an ultrasound to look at your reproductive organs (the womans).
The consultant will generally then provide you with a plan of investigative work including sperm samples from your husband and a detailed ultrasound to look at your ovaries, tubes and uterus.
Hopefully they will then be able to have clearer idea of whats happening and how best to treat you for conception.
Good luck.

well there are ovualtion kits you can try im doing them now and they are great !!! you buy them at the drug store or any shop that sells pregnancy stuff... you buy an ovulation kit for 5 days it comes with 5 peeing cups and 5 tests you do one test a day for 5 days at the same time every day.... it sort of looks like a pregnancy test but for ovualtion.... it comes up positive when you are at your highest and that means you are going to ovulate in 24 - 36 hours so you have sex on the day you get a positive and the day after....its worked for alot of women thats just an easier thing to try so that when you know you are most fertile you can plan a romantic evening and just enjoy the night instead of worrying the WHOLE month about making sure that you and your husband had sex on certain days so goodluck and for the future CONGRATS

Hi i'm pretty much in the same boat as you, when i went for my appointment i had a blood test done to rule out any hormonal problems and to check for polycystic ovaries (thankfully i've got none!). My doctor recommended the usual lose weight eat plenty fruit & veg, exercise, no smoking (I don't anyway) and you should be having sex 2-3 times a week. They generally ask you what your menstraul cycle is like. I hope this helps you out and everythings ok.

They will definitely ask a lot of personal questions, which will help find out what kinds of test they need to run or what they need to do to help you with your situation.
After the consultation, probably one of the first thing the will do is draw blood to check your hormone levels and to make sure you are ovulating. From there if everything with you checks out fine, then it'll be your husband's turn to get checked out.

To get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.
After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex.
After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.
Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 5 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.
