I was checking MTV's website and it says, "In addition to receiving a reservation to be in the TRL audience, you must bring an item with you to be recycled in order to gain entry to the show."
Somehow, I really doubt that all I have to do to get in is to bring a bag of recycled materials. I'm traveling to New York in a few weeks and I would like to know if I have to make reservations someplace in New York or something. If anyone has ever been on the show before, can you help me?

Phone Request. If you want to be a part of our studio audience, call the TRL audience hotline at (212) 398-8549. You must be between the ages of 18 and 24.
Tickets. There are NO advance tickets to TRL. MTV does not give out tickets to fans in the street or mail them to any person at home.
How to get in. Get to the MTV Studios very early and stand as close to the front as you can. The producer will come and ask trivia questions to fans who want to be the audience. my sister went there for free after she left the whole audience got gift bags and a $50 gift card. she had to wait in front of trl for hours and they let her and her friends. but u need an id and must be at least 16 years of age.

You probably have to buy a ticket once you get there, or in advance. Im not sure where you'd do this. I would bring alot of money on my way there. That probably means money and a recycled item, but that sounds corny.
