Here's a picture of a log cabin cross quilt. Your best bet is to try recreating it yourself. It isn't that difficult - just draw a big grid (each square represents a block), but make it on point (draw X's instead of +'s). Sketch the cross in the middle of it, making sure that the lines of the cross cut the grid blocks in half. Traditional log cabin blocks are usually half light, half dark, so they look like a jagged diagonal line cuts through them. For the solid blocks, you'll use light colored centers to get the window effect. Now just experiment with color placement until you get the look you want.

Where can I find a log cabin pattern that each strip has a quarter inch seam down the middle? The block is very different looking with all the seams in all the strips.

www.craftown.com is one site that has a free log cabin pattern. I have not heard of a log cabin cross, but there are some variatons of the log cabin
