I think the photo album would be a very nice Idea. Also a phone card with lots of minutes so she can call home, toothpaste, toothbrushes, baby wipes to wipe off sand, even some candy such as a supply of snickers bars, or a box of her favorite crackers to help her have an away from home snack might be good. I write this because I understand they run short of toiletries and candy bars etc and was asked to donate them one Christmas.

A photo album filled with pictures of friends and family? Yeah...I think that would be a great gift! Also...sneak in a little care package filled with snickers and peanut butter. Trust me...after a month or two in Iraq your friend will be craving some chocolate and peanut butter!

I think if you are to decorate it with some scrapbooking materials your friend would know it was trully from the heart. To me there is no better going away gift than one that reminds you of friends and family that love you.

If she is going to Iraq she will be needing phone cards, sheets "twin", toiletries "sample size", 1" paint brushes to clean her riffle, maybe MP3 players or small disk player. My son-in-law is there now. this is his second tour and these are things he always ask for. Especially the international phone cards so they can call home, and they never have enough sheets. Good Luck to your friend, Please tell her to stay safe and trust no one over there..

Yes, if she can take it with her, it will help her remember what she is over there for, and what she has to look forward to when she gets home. Couldn't be a better gift!
