No liberal cause is defended with more dishonesty than abortion. No matter what else they pretend to care about from time to time — undermining national security, aiding terrorists, oppressing the middle class, freeing violent criminals — the single most important item on the Democrats' agenda is abortion. Indeed, abortion is the one issue the Democratic Party is willing to go to war over — except in the Muslim world, which is jam-packed with prohibitions on abortion, but going to war against a Muslim nation might also serve America's national security objectives. Liberals don't care about women. They care about destroying human life. To them, 2,200 military deaths in the entire course of a war in Iraq is unconscionable, but 1.3 million aborted babies in America every year is something to celebrate.

Although their most popular cause is abortion, I think the cause they're most dishonest about is that they're the champion of the poor, minorities, and the uneducated. They've been playing a cruel joke upon these people for fifty years now. Are there less poor people now? No. Are there less uneducated people now? No. Less homeless? No. A lower percentage of minorities in prison? No. A lower percentage of minorities in poverty? No.
Look at the cities that have been under liberal control for decades and tell me how the poor and minorities are doing. Detroit? New Orleans? Los Angeles? More poor and minorities are killed every day in these cities than are soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The liberals have done NOTHING for the poor and the uneducated. Nothing. Except keep them poor and uneducated. This is purposeful because they need those people for their voter base. People who aren't poor and are educated tend not to vote for liberals.
The two most significant acts for the poor and for minorities were both delivered by Republicans - The Emancipation Proclamation and The Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Most democrats are not FOR abortion and if it weren't for your ilk, kids would be taught more sex education and have the availability of birth control, which the "righteous right" are trying to say is a form of abortion, there might be a lot fewer.Birth control should not cost anything!! It's sure obvious that they are getting no sex education at home!
Most democrats are for the right of a woman to have control of her own body, not someone like you!

The difference is that abortion laws is MUCH MORE than a debate over whether or not it is wrong or right. It is about women, their bodies and their decisions. If a law is placed on women to control something personal over her own body, it will just open more doors to take away other rights of women. It won't end with abortion. If one thing like that is allowed, OTHER laws and rules will be allowed. Banning abortion opens the door to removing women's rights. The president should not get to play god and decide that EVERYBODY must follow christianity. And Bush would be a hypocrite, because HE sends soldiers off to war, knowing they will murder and be murdered. Interesting when people choose to use the bible or decide for others what murder is and who has choices. Pro life discriminates against women.

But you are mistaken. The Democrats debate of abortion is whether abortions should be LEGAL or not. You compare these statistics on death, unborn fetuses compared to US troops serving in Iraq, and that is just stupid. The abortion issue is about whether abortion should be legal or not, everyone agrees that abortions will always be happening (whether you agree with it or not) the issue debated is whether they should be legal and endorsed by the medical field or they should be illegal and people will have to go to Mexico or some back alley to have an abortion performed with a rusty knife.

They don't celebrate abortions. They hold that stance on the issue because it is the ONE topic that they most Americans agree on.

Why are conservatives so much about controlling the choices and actions of individuals bodies? This is strictly a woman's issue. period! Not everyone in America is christian, not everyone believes what christians do or say. Not everyone believes in the bible. while I have no statistics, I am sure that there are plenty of "christian" women (this includes all branches of christianity) who have had abortions. This is between an individual woman, and her conscience (or God)...get a life!
