Interestingly enough, Goths hate people like you and think you look fake and crave attention. The fact that you care, think, or talk about them proves that YOU are also a drama queen.

Strong words. But don't we all make statements in different ways? In high school I was tall, athletic, blonde and loved social attention, though I admit I was quite shy. I had friends that were very different from me, and its interesting how your best friendships come about. One girl (the only real Goth on our campus) was so much fun, and my senior year, when I really got to know her, made for great times in the classroom. We havent talked in years, but she married one of my best friends, and I bet they are happy together! So no, I dont think goths are creeps or fake. She was more secure than most on my high school campus.

Whats the matter with Goths? Do you know any of them? OR are you just talking about the ones you see at school or on TV? They are NOT drama queens (and they dont worship Satan!!...You are so sterotyping and judging someone you know nothing about. So they dress a little weird? Is that what this is about?

People who choose a Gothic lifestyle aren't craving attention, but rather exercising their freedom of expression. A person who is Gothic isn't going to limit themselves to societies standards just to "fit in" or strive for acceptance, but rather utilize their prerogative to be an individual and display their artistic and creative personality through make-up design, clothing design, and body modification.
More often their perspective, views, and thoughts are being drown out by whats socially accepted. The bigger voice which isn't turning out to be so big after all, after reading these answers, says that being Gothic is "creepy" and "wierd". Why do people make such harsh judgements? We don't understand, thats why. We're afraid of the unknown and if we can't understand and know about the Gothic lifestyle, then we can't really accept it as accepted.
Let's clear a few things up, because unfortuantely you've been deprived of the necessary education to understand such a complex and artistic personality such as the Goth.
Gothic people aren't Satanic worshippers. A Satanist isn't one of the cultists that holds underground sacrificial ceremonies like we'd like to believe. A Satanist is a normal person like you or me. Chances are you've talked to dozens of Satanists in the past few months, and never even recognized it. A Satanists doesn't wear their Religion on their sleeve, and doesn't chant about Satan being the absolute ruler. Satanists are regular people, with regular lives. Why and how do I know this? I was a Satanist, and I get judged and stereotyped as a poseur - I read the Satanists Holy Book, 3 versions of it.
Not all Goths hate everyone, it just so happens that Goths are sketchy around regular people because of all the times society has hurt ot shunned them for their decisions and opinions.
I don't see how anybody Gothic is overdramatic. In fact, the only dramatic thing I see here is your disturbingly high animosity towards their lifestyle. If their choice in clothing, make-up, and attitude doesn't personally affect your life or threaten you in any way, why are you so involved and concerned about it? The answer is simple, because you can't tolerate someone being bold and open enough to show their individuality. If anyone here is being dramatic, it's the people who are narrow minded enough to hate, spite and shun an entire group of people just because of a minor disagreeance in fashion..
You've only proven to be arrogant and coneited. Please, grow up and get over yourself.

Uh...I don't hate I dislike. But, your being stereotypical. Goths are just part of a selection of ppl, just like 'preps' or 'emos' are, and whatever else there is. Why are preps so happy and bright? Why are emos soo emotional..because thats they way they are. Goths like doing what they do, just like preps like where sequens and sparkles and wear pastels WHY?! They're just different. I'm not goth btw, It's just really mean to be so ignorant. Their ppl, just like YOU and ME, and everyone else on the planet earth and they dress and act the way they want. I have 'preppy friends', 'goth' and 'Emo', and they are all awesome ppl, you really can't judge them by just the way they dress. Maybe you should try to get to know some 'goths' they aren't so bad as to hate them.

Not me. I've been there before, not as over the top as some, but I've definetely tried different personalities on for size. In a way I can see why you feel that way; some of them come off as not caring about life, work, etc... However, we all put on acts at one time or another, from one degree to another, so like it says in the babble, let the one without guilt throw the first stone...

people u think are goths dont hate everyone. ppl u think r goths might not even be goth. goth is a state of mind more than anything. u know what...im not evengoing to try to explain this to you. its a waste of time...but im goth and i dont like u, even though i dont know u, i wont have a chance to, so from what i do know, i dont like ya. but thats ok see, i dont have to, what mundanes see in me and others like me doesnt matter because they are not living my life. and i dont hate mundane either. i am the only goth i have seen stationed in korea, and yet i still hang out with mundanes, because they r kewl ppl, yea alot of ppl rub me the wrong way, but it wont bother me for long, cause they dont know me, therfore they are ignorant, and i wont hold it against them. u and they are welcome to talk to me whenever. thats the difference between u and me, most goths i know r like this, but i cant speak for an entire subculture, as there are as many different views about this subject as there are ppl.

if you stereotype people before you get to know them, that is hurting you. Do not be so judgemental, it will only hurt you in the long wrong, and i bet it's hurting you now. Every individual is different, take the time to get to know someone. Just becuase his or her interests are different doesn't mean that the person is less than you. just remember that, because it will only come back to bite you in the ****.
