US Let Down?

Question

Anyone disappointed with the US performance? Yes they had a tough group and they where over hyped back home, but scoring just one goal in 3 games? One of the teams with the fewest shots on goal in the World Cup? They have the players and the skill to have done MUCH more than they did.....TOTAL disappiontment.

With all the buildup and all the games the team had to play and win to get to the World Cup and then to just crumble in the first game and then to show a solid performance in game 2 vs Itlay gave us hope but today's game was a total lack of offense and a real showing of how far off this team seems to be instead of how close they should be...yes a huge disappointment. Maybe if they stop making projections and just play the game they might go farther as a team.

I agree, for having a 5'th world ranking i think their performance was embarassing. I'm even more embarrassed for Ghana though, their sportsmanship through the game when they were trying to run the clock out and diving (don't argue, i saw at least 2 dives) wasn't something to be proud of and its not something I want to see in the world cup. That kind of play is for the NFL. I can't wait to see Brazil tear them up on the 27'th.

Originally I thought it would have been tough to advance even if they were playing well, but now after seeing the matches I think it was possible. If they played as well today as they did against Italy they may have won. Too bad, they lost ground on their great 2002 performance.

It is embarrassing, actually. I really expected them to do better than they did. I have a feeling that Bruce Arena coached his last game for the US National Team. The players don't seem to have the enthusiasm that is necessary to play at that level. They were flat the entire three games.

Oh, yeah. They really didn't have much of a chance to get far anyways, but they could have at least given the world something interesting to watch.
