This is a hard one. I love the music from the 70'/80's. The best bands to me were the combined units who sang AND played instruments. In this order:
1) Earth, Wind and Fire (R&B)
2) Maze (R&B)
3) Chicago (Pop)
4) Journey (Pop)
5) Traffic
