Even if it was for WMD... N. Korea and Iran are and have been 100s of times closer to nuclear weapons than Iraq ever was... and I'm much more afraid of nuclear weapons than a little mustard gas...

Why do conservatives use these sad excuses? "they don't want us there".. oh and the Iraqis do... I'm sure those 800,000 people that died would have been more than happy for us to help out... those that are left are pretty much the killers now... I'm sure they don't want us there...

They don't WANT our military there. They want our money, which Bush has provided.
Better question is where the hell is the UN and the rest of the world on this. Why should america provide 68% of aid to this region while all others lend a deaf ear.
Furthermore. The US is not at war with muslims, they are at war with terriorists.

There's nothing in Darfur that is of interest to the United States. However, the U.S is part of the international forces that is planning to arrive in Darfur. We can't be everywhere!

Because what is happening there is not a threat to our country. We Will provide aid and other assistance - bit we are not at war with them. They did not attack us like 9/11.

We generally stay out of Africa bcause there "is no 'there', there." In other countries, we re-establish solid governments or re-build a crippled land. In Africa, there is nothing solid to rebuild. It's basically tribal anarchy.
The US gives more aid to Africa than anyone else. And Bush massively increased funding to fight AIDS in Africa.
