Yes, I am concerned with the people that work there. If these companies have no soul for their animals what makes you think that they'll care about a human being? They won't. A lot of these workers are paid sub-par wages, made to do dangerous work that they can get hurt, and these companies hire undocumented latino workers and exploit them. Trust me, hacking up animals is not their idea of a great job but they do what they have to to feed their families. I can't condemn the person making minimum wage to do a job like that because they are exploited just as well. Some meat packing companies have even gone into Mexico to recruit because they already know that it's cheap labor that they can easily replace. And yeah, then they sick the feds on the workers and they get deported because there's always more cheap labor to choose from. The government doesn't prosecute the company, they deport and prosecute the person trying to do a job. So if vegans and vegetarians here don't think that factory farming is harmful to the humans doing the work, then they're just as clueless as anyone who thinks animals aren't mistreated. It's an issue that encompasses so many problems.

Yes, my bf worked with some in Arkansas, but they were nasty, dirty, inbred hicks. Seriously. It's a hard enough job for a man to keep doing for long.
