I had a blood clot in my spleen, and was in hospital for 10 days, on complete bedrest, i should imagine if the hospital were worried about you b/f, they would have got him admitted, try not to worry, i know it's hard, but if he takes things easy and does as he's told, he will be ok.

Your spleen is part of the blood making/cleansing system. They check his blood to not only make sure its functioning properly, but to help diagnose why its swollen.

If they told him not to worry about it then it obviously isnt life threatening.

Only if it gets damaged or punctured. While it's enlarged, he'll need to avoid anything that could hurt it, like sports, strenuous exercise, anything that could cause an impact and damage or puncture it while it's enlarged.
