My ex-neighbor and friend is 48 and I am29. Because i have moved we talk by phone every tuesday. She once had a marriage that was really bad ultimately causeing her to move here and start over in life. "Suzie "found God and moved on. I am dealing w/ a bad relationship, and have a parent who is using me to death. Suzie will ask "How are you and so and so are doing?" When I complain about their disgusting behavior, she will cut me off, or say "if you like it,I love it", or use God by saying something like I am being punished for something and this is why I am being treated this way. This week she was like if I wasn't so holy, I would use your dumb but too, when she asked about the family member and the b/f. I know she is trying to give tough love or tell me things I may notwant tohear, but why be so insulting. I am sure she would understand my situation b/c she was with and somewhat abusive relationship w/ family and husband. How can I set her straight?

She said that if she wasnt so Holy she would use your dumb butt too?? Do you find her advice works or helps you to help yourself? It's good to have someone to talk to but if not I would maybe tell you get annoyed by these comments and do not NEED to be told you are dumb which is not the same as BAD anyway when you are already down. Tell her the "advice" makes you feel worse and ask her the last time you told her something so rude. When she says "ummm......dont know....." then say thats because you dont do it becuase it IS rude so she can either be SENSITIVE (has she ever heard of that word?) or hit the highway, you don't phone her up when she lives so far enough away just to hear rude and franky, cr*p advice!
