All I can think of is heating the glass to melting point and then cooling it. But will that make the glass bubble up or crack?? Or should I just go to my local head shop and have them make me a custom pice?

Heating with a torch is the only way, but the rate at which you heat and cool it is very critical. Either one done too fast will crack it. It all really depends on what type of glass you are working with.

Heating it won't damage it or anything....we did it in Chem class. I think that would be the best and easiest way.
