I think you should talk to the soldiers and Americans who are actually there on the ground doing the work. If it was so bad, why is my niece (who is now serving) volunteer to go over there. They know the truth. Talk to Senator Lieberman and other politician who have actually been there. The press has the same terrorist outlook as they've had in every war we've ever been in. They screamed like banshees during WWII. An old saying, don't believe everything you read and only half of what you see.

They don't show the bad things, in all thier effort to show the good things (none) they good even looks bad. Everyone can see clearly that killing Al Qaida is a joke... and the "men in uniform" as they paint it (really the Iraqi National Guard) are the ones infiltrating and killing on a daily basis. Quagmire is not even a controversial term anymore, too light...
And we will lose just like we lost Vietnam, with a small, willing group of people engaged in a civil war, will destroy the moral of our troops and the will of those who sponsored the war in this nation.

Did you see the Senate debates last night? Nothing could be more obvious.

So is that good? no... it is cowardly.

They're painting a realistic picture.

This war is a pointless war. And, its a war that can't be won. Someday, the US will leave Iraq, just like they left Vietnam. Iraq will return to the chaos that was there when the British left (just like Vietnam returned to chaos when the French left.)

The world does not want to be like the US, and they know that. They are tired, frustrated, and angry that some other pinhead can sacrifice their kin, spend their wealth, and blemish their good name by forcing US values on people who don't want them -- all under the guise of lies like "WMD's" and "Saddham's partnership with Bin Laden."

The US is the wealthiest country in the world, something that lead to Cuba's revolt. Cuba didn't want to be the United State's prostitute - they had higher values than making a buck at any moral cost.

South East Asia had their values - North Korea, Vietnam, China didn't want to be like the US - they had other values and morals.

Now, the US is forcing its values on the Middle East.

Why can't the US learn? The anti-war people are just tired of closed-minded, arrogant, religious zealots using the American People's good names in a pointless war against Arabs.

This is not a war against terrorism. Its a war to make rich americans richer, and poor americans soldiers.

Because pointing out that they now have more schools, more electricity, more income, more freedom and that the mass murders of thousands of people by a cruel dictator has ended - all that and more - does not further the agenda of a predominanly left-wing operated media.

There is no war on terror. Only a war on Islam and Arabs (Iraq, Palestine etc..), and a war for the corporations (mostly oil companies).

why hasn't he given the media "good news"
to report? (Other than his BRAVE photo op

... I see a "good" news piece about once a week... but overall the answer is this:

ALL NEWS IS BAD... PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT GIRL SCOUTS HELPING OLD LADIES ACROSS THE STREET... THE MEDIA DOESN'T HAVE TIME TO REPORT ALL THE KIDS WHO MAKE STRAIGHT A'S AND ALL THE PEOPLE HELPING THE HOMELESS...
