I'd say there are a number of diffeent reasons for people to be interested in this sort of thing.
For one, lesbians and gays have become more accepted than ever before in the past couple decades, which is something new to certain groups of older people, homosexual or not. and it's something interesting to younger people too because there is really no History of Gay People and thus the big 'boom' is sort of a compensation for years of keeping it behind the curtains.
Also, for many heterosexual people, the lives and ways of gays and lebians can feel so different, like a different culture or something like that. They are a minority, you know. So it's like learning about them to watch these films and read these books, just like watching a movie about Canadians or something (haha). Sure, it's a bit stupid, cinsidering they AREN'T a different ethnicity or somehting, but people will go to many lengths to learn about things they don't understand.
And then, of course, the idea of two men together, or two women together, can be twice as arousing as heterosexual romance/sex. I mean, instead of seeing someone of your own sex with the hottie, you get to see/imagine/read about two hotties! Haha...
But for me, the reason I find myself intrigued, is bacause they are the people who are all around me each day. More and more people, old and young are coming out, and when they are your friends and family, you sort of just come to see them as yor average Joe as much as heterosexual people are. I mean, if there are so many movies and books about heterosexual people, why not homosexual people too, right?
Not to mention, het romance is so much more dull for me these days. I'm a writer and I read a lot, and homosexual fiction (female or male) just has so many more elements of drama and angst and all that jazz to it.
As far as the moral thing goes, I think it does go against a lot of people's morals, but they are learning to let their morals adapt to modern society or just accepting things as they are. That's life after all.
Hope that answered your question!

People like all kinds of different things. And just because there is a gay person in a story doesn't make the story only interresting for gay people, people are people. Who somebody wants to have sex with is only one part of who that person is.
An example being the TV show Will and Grace. The main guy in that show is gay and the main girl is straight, but all different kinds of people watched that show. They watched it because they thought it was funny and liked the people.
The same question could be asked of you, just plug in something different. Like if you're a man why do you watch Oprah? Well, cause it has views that everybody could use, not just it's mainly women watchers.

Hey there. Why don't you try out these ones? There is a very good shoujo anime called "Karin" you should see. i know two yaoi mangas with a lot of bloodsucking as well: "Pathos" and also "Rust Blaster" Books... you have those from PC Cast and Kristin Cast, that i don''t know the english titles xD, but i guess it is something like "House of Night" [i've read those in portuguese, so idk the english title] Another anime shoujo is "Rosario + Vampire". You can be sure that there are a lot of scenes with blood-sucking on those animes, mangas and books i just told you... I can assure you 'cause i'm a blood-sucking-scenes-lover as well and i loved those ones i said above ^-^ . One those i suggested the blood-sucking always haves a secondary effect. Except for pathos, on that one, is just desire and hungry for blood xD Oh, twilight? Hate those too... can't stand this stupid almost new religion about vampires that those books started --" . The movies are just even worst... anyway, hope i was able to help you (:

Those people with those morals won't watch!
Those hets that do are probably looking at forbidden fruit "it's tabu. It's not something I've experienced - it's not something I want to experience - but still, I wonder..."
I shouldn't really have started to answer this question. I like gay, lesbian, straight porn/movies/books - but then I like both men and women...

You know this thing about the gay gene and how it gets passed on if homosexuals don't have biological children? I've always kind of thought that heterosexuals who were into gay culture were carriers for that gene, like women can carry the gene for hemophilia but don't usually develop the disorder themselves.

Two sexy guys kissing = extreme hotness
I don't really no why. But it is. Maybe for women it's because it's something we can't have and we're just curious. Like guys with lesbians. I'm not heterosexual though, I'm bi.
