Did you put the starter on?
Get this done by a professional ... might cost you around $150, but worth it not to cause another problem that will cost more to repair. Get a diagnostic check done on your vehicle ... it is in fact a 16 year old car that can have a lot of life left if properly maintained. Talk to people you know who can recommend a good mechanic who won't rip you off. Also, go to your local Barnes n Noble or Borders book store and purchase a repair guide for Lincolns. It's worth the investment.

Yes, there is significantly more things to do, then just buy a starter. You may need to consult with me, I am a trained mechanich, and I think the wood elves in your starter are mad at you. You need to appease them by collecting golden rabbit tails, from the Land Before Time. You will need a guide, I can do that too, and you need to enlist the help of Superman because the rabbit tails are actually made of plutonium. I will fax over an estimate.

Let's see...here's a response for your "original" question......a block, starter, alternator, battery, transmission, radiator, and many gadgets that i can't pronounce or spell.....but if you want to know it starting then check ur battery connection, the starter you put on could have been faulty, alternator keeps battery charged and possibly relay switches/fuses...and if none of this helps.....Mechanic Time!!!!! hope it really helps....later

Could be the wiring, could be the ignition. Take your old starter to Autozone...they'll test it for free.
