I believe in direct donations.
I think you should be willing to give the clothes off you back to anyone.
We are the most privilaged people in the world, no one should suffer for food or shelter in our society. The fact that people do is very sad and unecessary.
I will only carry enough cash that if someone asks me I will be willing to give half away.
I collect disability which is not a lot of money. I eat well and so do my kids, we are blessed. We want to share the wealth we have.
I could care less if I wear gap or crap if I know I am consuming no more then my fair share.
I am so self rightgeous, sorry, spank me.
In answer to you question, organizations, no, people yes.
I give everyday, pretty much unless I stay home.
Most of the homeless people in my little town know me by name.

For the most part I give my time. I volunteer at the local hospital doing pet therapy, and train "unadoptable" dogs at local shelters. I partake in the Walk for a Cure and Paws for a Cause. I had a sponsor child until I found out that only 10% of my money was being used for the child, the rest was for "administrative fees", that got me kind of jaded on large charitable organizations.

That would be great, except for one thing. Yahoo makes no money on YA. It is a very small piece of their properties and the staff have been reduced to cover expenses. A better alternative would be for each user to donate based on their point level. With each user donating just $1 per month, that is up to $24 million per month.
