It's usually a reflection of someone's inner feeling of inadequacy. The worse they make you feel, the better they feel.

depends on how the criticism is presented. It could be a very good way of teaching the best approach to just about any thing that one needs to "know" for social, family interactions. On the other hand criticism can reach an abuse level if it is used to debase human feelings, emotions.

No one should criticize like a jerk. Criticize in a way that the other person doesn't consider it criticism. Just let them know you're trying to help.

It depends on the criticism, if someone is like just telling you how to make your work better, then it's good, but if they're just saying something to make you feel bad, it's wrong. Listen only to that good criticism, and don't hbe too hard on yourself as your working on your work, before anyone sees it.

Well really that is not constructive criticism, which is sometimes good, that is more of a random insult.

If it's constructive, then it's probably a good thing. But if it's done out of hate or jealousy, then it doesn't do anyone any good.

If it's constructive it's useful. If it's destructive then it only tears the person down.

We all do it, And don't say it's not true because it is. We even do it to ourselves.
It depends how we do it, and how we say it. Remember respect is the key, you want people to respect you, do the same.
