My CCD teacher was discussing how pornography has spread the world and has become an addiction. she said she was driving and someone had porn on their Tv thingy there in their car. What do u think about that? do u think it's clinging?

It's true. Porn is every where! I've seen it car t.v's, i've had neighbors young kids watching it on their t.v. It's addicting, and it leads to real life ad situations. Look how many 12 and 13 year old kids are having sex...hell even younger. Where do you think they got the idea? usually from them finding a dirty magazine or porn tape of their parents or older siblings. The bad thing is that it will not get any better. The porn industry makes more than normal movies every year.

What is this world coming to? (So sick)?
Now there's a question that's been asked for as long as i can remember but in relation to such objectionable elements as Elvis, The Beatles (Sgt. Pepper-era), The Doors, Madonna, Peyton Place, Carnal Knowledge, Basic Instinct, Wild Orchid, 9-1/2 Weeks, and thong bikinis.

What do I think about your CCD teacher driving and seeing that someone had porn on their tv thingy there in their car? Hmm, well, other than her saying that, how would you know it was truly porn? Obviously, I don't expect her to detail to you what she saw. But to simply say that someone was watching "porn" is rather generic.

When "porn" is used, I think most people connote that with XXX movies which depict scenes of gratuitous sex. Is your CCD teacher of that ilk? Did she see scenes of gratuitous sex?

Where was she traveling? On a highway? A boulevard? A side street? Did she watch just long enough to establish that it was a "triple-X" movie? Or do her "community standards" define "pornography" more conservatively: i.e., was what she saw a "love scene" from an "R"- rated movie?

In either case, I'd say the driver of the vehicle in which that was playing exercised rather poor judgement, and was inconsiderate of his (or her) vehicular neighbors.

However, is your CCD teacher seeing such a thing equivalent to her seeing a young lady walking in public in a tight top that barely covers or accentuates her breasts; or pants that hang so low they reveal the young lady's thong underwear?

Would your CCD teacher have been as offended had she seen a young man walking down the street wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with some sort of graphic slogan designed to elicit a similar response (for example, a U.S. flag being burned, or something expressing disapproval about President Bush).

What if the driver had a violent or gory movie playing? Or had the windows rolled down and was blasting rap music or satanic music or a comedian's act which employs a heavy dose of four-letter words? For that matter, what if she'd been walking down the street and came across a group of teenagers talking loudly and using foul language every other word?

Are all of those examples cause for similar offense and outrage?

What is the proper way to handle such encounters? Avoid them? Confront them? And just what would you say?

And how would they react?
"Mind your own business."
"Last I checked it was a free country."

As objectionable as any and/or all of those things may be, should we legislate them away? Who would determine that? And how?

Much of this is frustrating, discouraging and disappointing. It's no wonder people ask, "What is this world coming to?"

Is this what our sailors, Marines, soldiers and airmen have fought and died for throughout our history and even today? Is this the price we pay for living in a free society? Has the price risen too high? Have we paid too much?

As for your final question, "Do you think that's clinging?"
I don't know what you mean by that.

PORN ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My collection is pretty skimpy (a duffel-bag worth) but that comes from trading it with the other freaks I know who LOVE nothing better than a good flick.
And by the way, your teacher was only offended because they had to go the rest of the day trying NOT to think about sex...which only made them think about it even more.
I bet when the teacher got home, the first thing they did was press "PLAY" on some kinky stuff from their own personal stash of the stuff.
We're all weird and perverted... whether we admit it or not!!!
Your teacher is just self-righteous and uptight...they could use a good hour or so with Jenna Jameson!

;-)

Sexual addiction is as old as time. What is the worlds oldest profession???
Prostitute. Longer than there has been a king or blacksmith, or carpenter, there has been a man or woman willing to sell their bodies for food or shelter, or whatever. We're animals for christs sake!! Pornography is a screwed up way to trick our bodies into thinking that we're having sex, which is pretty much our only purpose in life. Or the purpose of the life of any animal, spread your seed, make new life before yours ends. When we "get off" by our selves we our satisfying our first and most natural instinct. Not that I agree with it, but that's why it's around. I say we're better off to hold on to our "seeds" ("we're" as in men obviously) until we find the perfect mate.

I do believe its become more and more popular. Watching legal pornography at a legal age in the privacy of your own home is your own prerogative. But displaying it or watching child porn or displaying it while driving down the road is completely inappropriate and disgusting. My mother-in-law works at our local high school and she was holding a kid in the office because he was walking around with a portable dvd player with porn on it and playing in the middle of class. This kid was a freshman, he shouldn't be watching it much less showing it to other kids. I understand your reasoning for saying its sick, its repulsive, isn't it?

Who cares, it's pornography. It's not like it's hurting anyone except the people who are stupid enough to let themselves be sex objects. I don't give a damn about what anyone else does to get off, it's none of my damn business. Honestly your teacher needs a life, why does she care what someone's looking at on the TV in their car? Tell her she should be paying more attention to the effing road and less attention to what someone is watching in their car.

It is ILLEGAL to have pornography playing in a vehicle, it doesn't matter if the windows are up, down tinted or not!!! I'm all for watching an adult movie with my man but that stays in our bedroom!! I feel that the porn laws we have are safe enough. No one should have to view material that they don't want to. It's definitly illegal to have porn playing in your vehicle. It's the same with having sex in public. Just don't do it cause you can get fined

To each their own. As long as they aren't infringing upon my civil rights watch all the porn you want.

Granted I have a problem with it on in the car. One should keep BOTH hands on the wheel so not to as endanger my life. I share the highways too.

But 'clinging'?...naw.

Porn is normal to see at this day and time. Kids are having sex and getting pregnant earlier and earlier. Nudity in American is not a big issue anymore, the same with gays and lesbians...perfectly normal!
