There is a book out there called "Do what you love and the money will follow". If you go to college then take as many classes that interest you and major in the ones you like the best. Doesn't matter if don't know what career you can do with it as long as you like it and have fun and get the degree. If you are not going to college then employ the same method. Figure out what kinds of things you like to do the best then start exploring those things and companies/jobs related to them to ensure you'll be working in a place that you at least enjoy.

The best way to decide is not to decide.
All colleges have an "undeclared major".
You'll start taking general classes in a lot of different subjects. Keep taking classes that interest you and eventually get a degree in it. When you have a degree see what you can do with it. A lot of jobs may hire you even if you have a degree in something unrelated. Anyone with a 4-year degree can become a police officer after acedemy.

The military is another possible choice. I've considered it and still know it's an option even after I graduate from college in 2 years. It can really open your eyes.

Why not talk to a guidance counselor or someone at your unemployment office about taking an aptitude test? It's a good way to find out what your strengths and weaknesses are. Also, every armed forces recruiting station gives an ASVAB test which is designed to find out the same thing. These options are free and will help you get a handle on what you are good at and what appeals to you.

figure out who you are: LIST your interests, hobbies, dreams, values, ethical beliefs, favorite places, etc and bring to your guidance counsellor or business teacher and discuss. I do this for a living and it works
