How can it be OK to abort one fetus and not the other. This is a very christian way of thinking: without thinking things through all the way. What's next? Abortion is OK in case of Arab, Black, or any brown-eyed genes? You are horrible people to think this way, and not very "Christian"!

How can you say it is bad except in cases of rape? What makes it less "alive" or important, or human?

I am pro-choice by the way.

It's considered ok in rape cases because it's too painful for the woman. It's a constant reminder every day for 9 months of that terrible situation. It is too hard on her emotional mental well-being. You can't worry about the fetus and ignore the feelings and needs of the already living, breathing human that already has a life she needs to live. That's immoral too.

I'm pro-choice too by the way.

I don't think abortion should be legal except in 2 cases- 1 of rape (which by the way you should have gotten the morning after pill if you went to the doctor anyway) or if it will cause the mother to die. Here is why because I believe women do have a choice. One to wear a condom or make the guy wear one, 2 to get on birth control (both of which are free from Family Planning) and 3 not to have sex. Those are all choices... why do they need yet another one that involes an innocent being? In the case of rape however those choices have been taken away from them. This is where I can understand abortion being a valid choice. Here and only here. Otherwise it is just used as a form of birth control.

The arguments on both side are frequently emotional and not thought out.

"Choose life; your mother did." The same logic can be applied to not using birth control.

"The baby you want to abort could be the next Albert Einstein or Martin Luther King" or maybe the next Hitler.

"It's not fair to bring an unwanted baby into the world."
Haven't you heard of how many people are on a long list for adopting a child? This goes for all races now days. This argument only applies to handicapped kids. Then I wonder, couldn't you apply the same logic to the children after they're born? What is the scientific difference between a late-term fetus and a new-born baby?

"My Body - My Choice" But the fact of the matter is (at least at some stage of the development) there is another human life IN your body. And in the vast majority of the cases, the woman had a choice before getting pregnant! Birth Control!

You may religiously believe life begins at conception, but you can't legislate by religion.

And just because it isn't fair for a woman to have to have a baby she didn't want just because she waited to long into the pregnancy to make the decision, does that mean it's fair to kill the baby?

The question, is it a lump of tissue or a human life!

So what I'd like to see is SCIENTIFIC DATA to determine when life begins.

WHEN DOES LIFE BEGIN!

Before life begins -
It is OBVIOUSLY a woman's right to have an abortion.

After life begins -
It is OBVIOUSLY killing a human to have an abortion.

Not that makes things simple, but that should be the basis of the argument.

Nothing in my eyes makes a human life less important or makes a fetus less alive and for me personally abortion would not be the right answer. I am pro life. I beleive every life deserves a chance and there is no reason to end a life that God put there, not birth defects, not because somone took infertility meds to get pregnant etc... the list can go on and on.

However I can not and will not condem someone for making those choices. I am sure they are difficult and heart wrenching ones for anyone to make. I don't think anyone should condem another person for the choice they make. Not one soul walking the earth today is without sin and they only person that can judge me or you or anybody is God.

I don't support any abortion.

Rape.... well it has been documented that many of the rape victims do find solace in the children from rape; in other words, the child is the cure for the mothers pain and anguish she suffered from being rapped. So, I believe with this knowledge, that abortion of babies made from rape is one of the saddest abortions.

The movie, "North Country" staring Charleese Theron did a great job of showing how a son born under that circumstance is valuable!!! Although this is dominantly a fictional movie, there are actual cases where this is the result. Even when the mother gives birth and allows the child to go to adoption, there are many cases where the re-uniting of mother and child do repair the mother.

Well there are already a lot of directly inbred people runnin around, you can see that on this site. As for rape, I agree it should be allowed right on thru the possibilities to a happily married rich couple with three kids should be able to abort, if they want, for any reason of their own. All feustus are just feuses until they are babies. The world is F-ucked--do them a favor and dont drag em into it against anybodys will.

There is no excuse for aborting a baby ever. Rape is a horrible thing and those that commit it should be severly punished but why should the baby have to suffer because of it? Why make it worse by taking away the life of an innocent baby? Babies in the womb are completely defenseless and so we must defend their lives. Who are we to judged what their quality of life is? If we can define "quality of life" what's to stop us from doing it in other situations? Also what about the suffering caused the baby? We have no right to take away their life. God has created life as a precious gift and this gift only gets distorted when we have turned from God. God loves all people regardless of who they are even if they have some disability or other difficulties and we should love all people as God loves them.

Yes, it is less of a person. It's an unwanted child whom should have been aborted in the first place. I believe any child conceived of rape should mean an automatic abortion. Most kids conceived of rape end up being very messed up.

I personally wouldn't want to be born if I was conceived of rape.

I am a christian and I think that all abortion is wrong. If any one would like to read up on what they do when they abort a fetus, go to bibleprobe.com. Did you know that a fetus can be aborted when 8months in the womb? Go look at how that's done. May God have mercy on the ones who do these things to our children.

A child conceived by rape is not less alive or less of a person, but is less wanted...When considering the upbringing of a child, it might be better if that child was not brought into the world, unless given up for adoption...
