To Elspeth: This happens to be the article that introduced me to what knowledge I have on the subject. I'm not asking for you to do my shopping for me! The article brings out that several materials can be used, & I was referring to tohose as 'types'. That's all.

I think they are lovely and intricate works of art but few young women today would appreciate either the effort it took to carve one or the thought behind a gift of one. If I were to receive a gift of a cameo in my likeness I would be overewhelmed with gratitude.

Cameos are lovely...but I have to ask...why shop for cameos on a Jehovah's Witness site? Is there a connection there that I am unaware of?

I think giving a cameo would be very classy and thoughtful of you. Real ones are hard to find, and rather pricey. Glad to see there's a guy out there with fine taste in jewels. :D

Jehovah's Witnesses do not connect their religion with commercialism of any kind.

Jehovah's Witness publications discuss a wide range of topics which interest millions of Witnesses and non-Witnesses around the globe. That includes Italian cameos!

Cameos are art works since each one hand done. Unfortunately they are considered something an old woman would wear.

It depends for whom. I like them, but I would find them hard to combine with my clothes. Maybe I could use them in 20years, when I'll be 50 and I might dress less casually.
