I think the polls show that we need a better government that doesn't only care about its own needs but cares about how it affects other countries (i.e. we need a better foreign policy). We need a government that responds to the United Nations and adheres to international law. We need a government supporting liberty and justice without infringing on our rights. We need change.

Our perception is that other countries need us to fix them. However, other countries can fix themselves with little help. Although we can help a little, we shouldn't force our culture upon other countries. We shouldn't advocate violence and should be more humanitarian.

I do believe that the US can be a threat, but Iran and North Korea are still much bigger threats.

A poll is a tabulation of opinions, not a definitive statement that the majority opinion is fact. Based on that observation, I would say that the United States' political leaders need to be concerned about foreign relations.

But do I think that the U.S. actually IS more of a threat to world peace than Iran? No way, regardless of the perceptions of the people of any country anywhere in the world.

Well I'm Canadian and I've (unfortunately) studied statistics in university and we had a prof who would put up surveys like this and they'd show all these stunning numbers, like did you know, four out of five coffee drinkers will die of cancer before their 50 years old? This is an actual true survey that, if someone wanted to, could publish in any way they want. It's true. However, they don't have to disclose the fact that 100% of the people polled already had terminal cases of cancer and were dead at the time of the survey. These are the things that you don't have to publish when you show a "survey" a "study" "polls" anything like this. So I wouldn't take this as true through and through. Be careful what you read and what you take out of it.

It my opinion, open-minded individuals in the united states have first hand experience of the criminality of this administration. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that Bush & Co. are ruining everything that we've worked hard for since the beginning of this great country!
The only good thing that may come out of this presidency may be the learning experiences we have had to endure, hard-knock style.
At least I hope America can learn from this giant mistake we call an administration!

I'm not surprised. The US is a greater threat since it is far more powerful.

I'm not surprised that other countries have the same opinion about the US government as Americans themselves do.

And lastly, the US held favorable polls in Europe only when Europeans were in fear of the USSR and relied on the US for protection.

I think king yellow needs to read up on the history of the UN. They are proven to be NO GOOD! Further more we don't have to run OUR Country with permissions from the UN. This is still The United States of AMERICA not the united states of the UN!
We help and put out more money to help other countries than anyone and we in turn get crapped on!

Well, let's see...in 2004, Madrid's subways were hit by a massive al-Qaeda terrorist attack, and in response, the Spanish people voted out their Conservative government and elected a Socialist one. In other words, they gave the terrorists exactly what they wanted. The word for that is "appeasement". If that's Europe's vision of world peace, I want no parts of it, and I'm happy to live in a country that threatens that sort of peace.

I suspect the influence of the massive influx of Muslims into Europe in the last ten years. Britain's still a staunch ally. If it were not for them Europe would have disappeared down the rabbit hole a long time ago.

I am an American and I agree that the U.S. needs to get the hell out of Iraq. Bush lied about Saddam having weapons of mass destruction. He knew there were no WMD. He simply lied using this as an excuse to invade Iraq. America needs to quit pumping billions into this idiot war. We need to worry more about our own country. For example, we need to deport the illegal aliens, keep the illegal aliens from crossing the southern border, and keep drugs from crossing the southern border.
