What can I do to shrink large images and keep it looking great. I have seen some that looked great at size 100x100px.

No, there's nothign wrong. As you shrink an image, it will appear fuzzy as it has to remove pixels to account for the size difference. If you expand your image back to it's original state, you'll notice it won't look the same anymore, as pixels have been removed.

1st question: which software are you using?

If you want to shrink the images and keep them with good resolution, import them to CorelDraw and shrink them with the appropriate tool (pick tool, the first in the toolbar). The file size (in kb) will remain the same, as if you shrink to half the size, the resolution will grow to the double.

The lower the resolution the fuzzier the object will be.

You are basically deleting bits of your object. The more you delete to reduce the size the worse the object will appear.

I'd suspect the software you used to shrink it.
