The best degree is the degree that is best for you. It's not so much what you get, but what you do with it.
If you have an ability or skill set that makes it easier for you to do one or the other, choose that one, you will succeed easier. If you have a passion or an attraction to one, choose that one, you will love your job, which makes you better at it.
Both are higher degrees, so they are not inherently better one than the other.
Go with your heart. Try to delve into each to get a taste for it, then evaluate which you like best.

Engineering: you can have exciting jobs all around the world, and do a lot of concrete good in the Third World. You can travel, see wonderful places...
Psychology: You will meet messed up people and maybe help some of them. But I feel that in the U.S. there are many who create their own problems, and that people overmedicate... Much more people oriented, but you'll travel less.
It depends on what you want from life. If you're settled and want a family soon, you may want to do psychology. If you're looking for adventure, get the engineering degree and start traveling.

a better degree would be engineering as you would have more of a job security and be more well paid. But it really depends on what you like.. do you see yourself helping other people, listening to their issues and trying to figure out what disorders they have. Analyzing crime scenes to determine what the criminal was thinking. Analyzing of people's social behavior. Or would you picture yourself taking a system and converting it to a mathematically correct to investigate if it's productive. or designing a project that fits a certain criteria using mathematically and scientific methods? They're two completely different things. But it's you who has to decide not us. Do something that you'll be happy doing every single day and you'll make the right decision whatever it is.

Engineering of course!! If you want to make big bucks & help change the world via advanced technology etc, then engineering is the way to go. Well unless you have a PHD in Psych, that makes good money also, but not as good. Well it depends on who your client is too. Just go with your gut. Whatever is gonna make you happy in the end, that is what really matters!

Well for one thing you can't let other people pick what you want to study. You should go with what your strongest points are so you know for a fact that you are going to pass. If you are a big fan of math and science and you like to design things engineering is your thing, but if you like the human mind and what to know how to figure it out then psychology is the one for you. Like i said its up to you.

Better for what? You are not specific in your question.
Earnings-wise, a psychologist with an advanced degree, in private practice, can do quite well, and probably out-earn most regular engineers. However, engineers are frequently targeted to become upper-level managers and high-level executives in manufacturing companies, and can eventually achieve very high earnings.

Which ever you find more rewarding. Personally I think psychology b/c you get paid to really help people, psychological disorders and mental health are beginning to gain more and more acceptance by society, just as much as physical health has. (Not to mention there is a local Dr here in FL and he charges 250.00 per hr. and has no room for new patience) You can't go wrong either way.

That depends what you mean by better.
An engineering job is simply going to pay more, but if psy is really your thing maybe you could do something like Engineering Psychology and combine your interests.
go to http://www.bls.gov/oco/home.htm and do some research.
