some of the language is inappropriate for kids that under 7. But those kids won't know what any of those words mean. But i really do think they need to watch what they are putting in these shows. they are doing it to get a bigger audience and raise the age range from just young kids so the older ones watch it too. Some of the shows used to be for just young ones but the young ones that loved them are getting older so maybe they want to just grow with them.
but some cartoons are made for adults. Ren and Stimpy,Family Guy,American Dad, Bevis and Butthead.

i think that kid shows do use inappropriate words but i dont belive kids are being effected by it considering now in days children hear these words from their so-called role models and start saying the words reguardless of how they use them. Because i am a child still i know that nomatter where a child goes they will learn a bad word and think its cool to say it. im not even going to lie i have little 4 and 5 year old brothers who say bad words because they think its cool when i use them. Well my point is that if a child sees some show that is the coolest thing ever to them they are going to copy it and there really is no stopping it.

I agree that most kids shows have lots of inapprorpiate themes or langueage in them.
Though Ren and Stimpy is a cartoon, I don't think it is geared toward kids, but more towards adults.

Yes, I think you are right, because I also like to see Billy and Mandy and foster's home for imaginary friends.

ren and stimpy isn't a kid's show, crap and sucks aren't bad words, 6teen isn't a kid's show, nut job?!?!?! you think that's a bad word??? lol!!!! billy and mandy is just a lame shoeand if you have problems with these shows then you can hurt your child's social status by controlling what they watch. you can't hide them from a couple of bad wors so you might as well just let them watch their shows.

yes the language used on tv today is atrocious! there is no need for it either. in a recent mag i read where someone said nothing of any importance was ever said by someone who spoke crudely...i agree, but i have a hard time controlling myself...my folks use to raise cain if we said fart! that's the worst i'd put in an email even, let alone on tv where kids of all ages can hear it...i think we need to let our pendulum on language swing back to a little more control

Yes, I definitely think so. Not only are the words inappropriate, but the grammar is terrible. Kids learn by example, and swear words, bad grammar and rudeness are not what they should be learning. I hate to let my kids watch cartoons any more they are so bad.

That's why my children aren't allowed to watch them programs.
They watch educational programs on PBS.
They are allowed to watch shows such as Star Trek:TNG and a few others.
