so that the military people that are on their
3rd-4th tour of duty in Iraq can return to their

place...

I actually agree with you. You have to remember, we have a voluntary army but a good portion of the folks in Iraq and Afghanistan are National Guards...They are not regular military. They signed up to help when needed and to fulfill a domestic role.

All the able bodied people on welfare should have to work for their keep just as you and I have to. There are plenty of jobs both military and civil that are way behind on their quotas.

The problem becomes a socio-economic one, I understand that, but the reality of a mass of population that feeds off the toils of others is detrimental to society as well.

Because it would never pass Congress. People are too scared of it happening.

It does make sense I guess to try and relieve the ones that are there, but it's also a big deal to try and "force" others with families and children to go. The ones that are there at least volunteered. They knew what they were getting themselves into by registering. I know someone on his 3rd tour of Iraq, He's not too happy with it, but he knew that it was to be expected. He knew that by joining the military that he would have the responsibility and obligation to go and defend his country. And I'm sure the other men and women there knew that too.

Why would you want to draft people when people are volunteering to go. The Republicans are not for the draft, contrary to popular belief. The Democrats are the ones trying to push the draft through right now.

Those military people are also re-enlisting in record numbers.

Concerning the draft...as of right now, none is needed and draftee soldiers are never the same quality as volunteers.

Dems use the draft as a scare tactic. No one wants a draft army. You think I want to fight next to a guy who doesn't want to be there?

Well, really because they don't want one. Not the White House, not the Pentagon, no one. It is a scare tactic, that's all.

Besides, then they'd have to accept in people like you who can't really do much besides resort to name-calling.

I doubt it. Unless we get another Neo-Con Reich Winger. Then, we're wholly screwed.
