It was in "the Emperor Strikes Back" (which is the 2nd of the older ones) It was either right before Luke got his hand chopped off or right after.

Empire Strikes Back - The second best of the six.
Darth says it, then cuts off Luke's hand (my dad is just like that).
Then Luke jumps down a trash chute because he would rather kill himself than face the reality of having an evil robot for a father.
Fortunately, for Luke, they put antennas right at the bottom of the trash chutes (better reception I guess), and he was able to hold on to the antenna instead of plummeting to his death in space.
And to top off the luckiest day in the history in a land far, far away, the Millennium Falcon just happened to be passing by and pulled up under the antennas and saved him before he lost his grip from exaustion. Whoooee, that was close.

Yes, Darth Vader was originally a Jedi called Anakin Skywalker. He walks over to the dark side and becomes Darth Vader - his two children(about whom he doesn't know) are Luke Skywalker & Leia Organa
