It's been done, and was a re-recording rather than a plain old remix. Orbital did a new version of the theme tune from Dr Who. It was called Doctor? and, to someone like me that grew up hiding behind the sofa from daaleks and giant maggots (roughly 1973- 1978), its ace!!! Especially when the base kicks in!
