First of all how could that happen to your whole family? Are you not locking your car/ house doors or something? Also, if I were you since it is summer time, set up some type of survellance and keep a good watch on your house. Chances are, if ALL of you have been ripped off it is probably from someone who knows you and your family pretty well, and has access to your house. Get an awesome guard dog, and LOCK EVERYTHING. AND DO NOT HIDE extra key outside under mats or plants or any where outside. If this keeps happening it has to be either the same person or the same circle who have scoped your house out pretty well! If they are breaking glass to get into your house, or jimming your door open the police need to do a little bit more detective work. You have called the police right? ALso, Make sure you got insurance so the items stolen are covered!
Don't need a gun, that just causes more problems.
How about contacting your neighborhood watch?
Like I said, some good survalliance and a good gaurd dog and one quick telephone call to the police will get the job done!

Call the police and make them make a report. If you have home owners insurance place a claim. If you have no insurance coverage you can use the police report and count the loss on your income taxes at the end of the year. GOOD LUCK!

look into a hidden camera, they make them supper small and easy to install. some can see in the dark and others can light up an area with infared light, the camera can see everything, but the criminal cant tell the light is on. just set it to record everything and you will have a great peice of evidence. you can also try to build up your home security. install dead bolts on all of your doors and lock all your windows. garage doors usualy have locks on them. investing just a little money in your home security can save you thousands in stolen property.

This might sound stupid, but it really is a serious answer. Don't own things people are going to want to steal. If all you have is cheap crap, they won't come looking to steal it.
