As a kid, summertime was when I'd dig up the backyard looking for something ... maybe treasure? Anyone else find anything?

Yes ! I was 14 and living in Washington, DC - my friend and I went to bike in our favorite park ( LITTLE FOREST ) and he brought his dad's metal detector along. There was once a fort (or fortification) that the soldiers used from the war against the British and during the civil war. We thought that would be a great place to look for goodies and we were right ! We found three stashes of gold coins and relics glore that had been ( delibrately ) buried since George Washington's & Abe Lincoln's presidencies ! Amazing ( net worth ) then in 1970, $10,000+ Now - I ain't goin' to say !!!

I'm a ninja-pirate and I make it part of my life to find buried treasure. Sadly, I have yet to hit the big stuff yet, but I did make about $50 one day searching in couch cushions at home, the furniture store and at all the my friend's and family's homes. It was quite the haul. x3 I used to dig up the backyard, too, until mum started chasing me around with my own shovel.

Yes I was walking home on night about 2 1/2 years ago and I found a wad of notes totalling £80.
