I think I was born loving horses! From the moment I can actually remember anything, it was wanting a horse!
My first horse was an Appaloosa mare named Little Bo Bars, "Appy" and her colt, Splash Bardette, "Mikey"! She was gorgeous! While she was bred and I could not use her for 4-H shows, my dad found me another horse to ride!
That guy, I think was my best friend growing up! He was a quarter horse gelding named Dr. Cutter, "Cutter" for short! He was awesome! I trained him myself and showed him in performance and speed events. I rode him every day and rodeoed several times a week. I was so lost when my parents sold him! He was purchased by a lady in Canada who used him to run barrels as well.
Since becoming an adult, I've owned several horses mostly quarter horses! One of my favorites was a colt, Go Windy Bar Go, "Windy". He was sooo beautiful! And another favorite was a grey gelding, Divi Wolf Doc, "Wolf" . . .he was very fast!
Right now, we have a grade mare named Boo that i found online several years ago! When we purchased her she was starved almost to death. She isn't fancy but has such a willing and kind personality! She just had a paint filly we are calling Zakley because she was born "exactly on time"!
Horses are very interesting creatures and when handled properly can provide lots of happiness to their owners! Thanks for asking this . . . such a fun journey through my memories!

Have owned several and worked with more than I could count or name. Each one taught me - good bad and otherwise. Some of the special ones I've owned - Joey (welshX), TG (Shetland), Stars, Lacy, Pepper (TBs), Sissy, Diamond (QH), Popcorn, Peanut (POAs), Sunny, Star (Saddlebred).
Others who I'll remember forever - Nephew, Spumoni, Roni, Desi, Gater, Five Star, Rose, Cagny, Viva, Bit, Ashley, Ghirardelli, Firing Point, Fiery Finish, several I can't remember their names (all TBs); Society (Morgan), Valley (App); Flair, Pepsi, Victory (Saddlebreds) and a little bay Arabian stock horse.
Once we get our own acreage am looking at Apps - maybe some others.

Flame, a standardbred/belgian mare. I got her for my 13th birthday when she was only 4 mos. old, until I was 19 and she was six. I had to sell her when I moved to the city to go to school. She was my baby. I broke and trained myself and I showed her in contest events at the fair every year. We never did any good, but we had a lot of fun. I cannot wait to own horses again!! I love them.
