No matter what happens, people seek out the differences between themselves and other people. Let's say the world is suddenly all one race; then we attack religion. Or height. Or language. Or or or ... there's always going to be something, some way of dividing people, and I don't think it's going too far out on a limb to say that everyone's a little bit racist simply because of the cultures in which we are raised. We don't think we are, since it's a "natural" racism, so to speak, culturally acceptable and therefore basically unnoticed.

The only way to end racism is to NOT teach it to our children...by the time we are 5-6 years old, we have picked up our parents feelings. There is a song from South Pacific that really spells it out..."You've got to be carefully taught"
If ONLY one generation of children were NOT exposed to racism, it would disappear completely..by the time we are teens, we are idealists and if we are going to be, we will be anti-racists. Oh, and by the way, it really doesn't matter what color your skin is, there are going to be those that will dislike you for no reason.

I don't believe so. We are human and have our shortcomings. We have to make a conscious effort to not judge people based on their race, religion, sexual preference, etc. The majority of racists never take the time to get to know any members of the group they hate personally...they simply sit in judgment of what is unknown to them. I pity these people, they miss out on how wonderful diversity can be.

That's never gonna happen. Racism is alive and well. And growing! No amount of wishful thinking is gonna make it go away. Too many people rely on their eyes, ears and noses to believe in the equality of the races.

You are right, this cannot be stopped because even if you put the racists in prison their children are going to grow up and be racists because their parent is in prison because they are racist.
It;s a vicious cycle, never ending!

as long as you allow it to affect you it will never stop , for eg: if some one calls you the n word and you react buy getting upset he has won , but like me if they say it i feel so sorry for the person , if they call me the N word i just reply that i am proud to be one and i am loving it that always shut them up .and then you say to them thank you for reminding me .
